Dear Registrant:
1. This course is a non-credit, independent study sponsored by the Center for Anthroposophy, not Antioch New England Graduate School.
2. The participant enters the Foundation Studies Program with the intention to apply to the Waldorf Teacher Education Program. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the Center. Successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program will be considered an important step towards eventual participation in the Waldorf Teacher Training Program but does not in any way guarantee acceptance.
3. Students are reminded that visiting a Waldorf School [find a complete list at AWSNA or by calling (612) 870-8310] and working or volunteering in an educational or other setting with children are also important preparations for teacher training. Participation in study groups and artistic activities such as eurythmy, recorder playing, and wet-on-wet watercolor painting is also recommended.
4. Work with the mentor will focus on readings from Rudolf Steiner’s basic books and other writings on Anthroposophy and Waldorf Education. Reflecting upon one’s reading, journal writing, and preparation of questions for discussion are the basis for personal dialog with the mentor. Throughout this course students meet with mentors for no less than 16 hours. (Eight two-hour meetings.)
5. The course tuition is $1,200 of which $400 is a non-refundable administration fee payable to the Center. Please send this fee together with a signed copy of this letter to the address below. Upon receipt, we will identify and contact your Mentor and if, after the initial meeting, you will both agree to proceed, the remaining $800 is paid directly to the mentor.
6. Upon the completion of the course, you will be asked to write a short self-evaluation and forward it to the Center.
Clicking on the Registration button below indicates that I have read the above and agree to the expectations and guidelines of the program.
