Independent Study & Research

In addition to the three summer sessions, each student undertakes three kinds of independent work during the two intervening years.

Between the second and third summers:

Each student undertakes a piece of original research in the field of specialization. Working with a mentor, each student prepares an extended written research paper or project, which is presented to fellow students during the third summer session. In addition each student continues with ongoing artistic practice.
